Answer: Car A
B comes down the left hand road and A down the right hand road, and both merge into the same road below, where C is already heading away from the junction. Looking out of A, B is the vehicle on the right, and at a junction with no sign or robot you give way to the right, so A stops.
Answer: Car B
Give way signs face the road Car C is on at both ends, so C gives precedence to the road the green car is on. B comes along that road from the left and turns right into the road C is on, which it may do. C pulls out without giving way, so Car B is doing nothing wrong.
Answer: Direction
The green board carries Chitungwiza, Masvingo and Glen Norah round a traffic circle symbol with 300m beneath it. A green board like this is a direction sign: it tells you which arm of the traffic circle 300 metres ahead leads where. It gives no order and warns of nothing.
Answer: When conducting driving lessons
An instructor beside a learner has to reach the controls and turn about to watch the road, so the exemption covers the time he is actually giving the lesson. Merely having learner drivers in the car is not the same thing: the belt goes on once the lesson stops.
Answer: Never.
A learner carries nobody. The qualified driver sitting beside him is there to supervise, not to travel as a passenger, so having an instructor in the vehicle buys no permission to load anyone else in.
Answer: Moving far to the right as possible within your lane
Taking position as far right as your lane allows shows the traffic behind what you intend, shortens the turn and leaves room on your left for cars going straight on. Holding the middle of the lane blocks them and hides your intention.
Answer: Not be crossed.
Two solid lines with a broken line between them face both directions at once, so neither side has the broken line nearest it. Nobody may cross. You cross a barrier line only where the broken half is the one on your side of the road.

The red cross drawn over the 12t round sign cancels it: the plate tells you the 12 tonne limit is not in force here rather than ordering you to do anything. The same round sign without the cross would be the regulatory sign that bars vehicles over 12 tonnes.
Answer: Car C
Traffic already going round a traffic circle has absolute priority. The blue car is on the circle and coming round towards where C waits to join from the right hand road, so C holds back. The orange car joins from the bottom road with nothing in its way, so Car C goes last.
Answer: Buses are being regulated
A bus inside a red circle with a red bar across it bars buses from the road ahead. Round signs with a red border give orders, so buses are being regulated here. A warning would be a red triangle and information would be a rectangular plate.
Answer: When directed by a police officer
A police officer directing traffic overrides the robots and the signs, and you follow his hand even when the light facing you is red. Nothing else lets you go: a red arrow forbids that movement, and the hour of the night changes nothing.
Answer: Heavy goods vehicles may not overtake another goods vehicle
The two black shapes inside the red circle are both goods vehicles, and the bar means one may not pass the other. Cars may still overtake on this stretch, and a lorry may still pass a car. What the sign stops is one heavy goods vehicle overtaking another.
Answer: Overtaking prohibited
The two vehicles inside the red circle are ordinary cars, which makes this the general no overtaking sign: nobody overtakes on the stretch it covers. The sign showing two lorries in the red circle is the narrower one that only stops goods vehicles passing each other.
Answer: Defensive driving certificate, 5yrs driving experience & medical certificate
Carrying the public means proving you can drive, have driven long enough and are fit to: a defensive driving certificate, five years of driving and a medical certificate. A registration book and insurance are the vehicle's papers, not the driver's. A bus licence is now one of the D codes.

At an uncontrolled crossroads you give way to traffic on your right. Car A is coming up the bottom road going straight ahead, with the orange car crossing from the road on A's right, so A waits for it. The blue car turns right from the left hand road across A's path too. Car A moves last.
Answer: Car C
A comes down the diagonal arm at the top left, B in from the right and C up from the foot. C gives way to B on its right, and B in turn gives way to A on its right. The order runs A, then B, then C, so C goes last.
Answer: Eighteen years.
A tractor on a public road is a motor vehicle like any other, and eighteen is the age at which a person may be put in charge of one. The tractor driver's permit is issued from eighteen as well. The new system gives tractors code BÊ, still from eighteen.
Answer: Signal, check blind spot, change lane
Your mirrors come before any of this: watch the traffic behind you first. Then, in the order this paper gives, signal so the traffic around you knows your plan, look over your shoulder into the blind spot the mirrors miss, and only then move across. Looking after you have started finds the motorcyclist too late.
Answer: To emphasize the driver's intention
Hand signals back up the indicators where the lights may not be seen or believed: bright sun on the lens, a bulb that has failed, an officer or another driver who has to be certain. Any driver may give them, not only a learner, and not only for a right turn.
Answer: Overtake on the right
Traffic keeps to the left in Zimbabwe, so the free lane is the one to the right of the vehicle ahead, and that is the side you overtake on. Passing on the left surprises the driver you pass and puts you where he is not looking.

The plate is a red letter L on a white ground, carried front and rear so that other drivers can see at a glance that a learner is at the wheel.

A tunnel or a flyover narrows the road in two directions at once: the height under it and the width between its walls. A high or wide load can foul either, so read both plates before you commit the vehicle to it.

The two black arrows point at each other from top and bottom with 4.42 between them, and that measures the height of the opening: nothing taller than 4.42 metres passes under. Arrows facing each other from the sides would be the width sign.
Answer: Check for clear breathing
An unconscious person can suffocate on his own tongue within minutes, so the first thing is to open the airway and make sure he is breathing. The ambulance and the police still have to be called, but the call comes after the breathing.
